"We can judge the heart of a man by his treatment of animals." ~ Immanual Kant

My name is Christelle and I grew up loving animals (anything from cats and dogs to snakes and spiders) and always wanted to be a vet. However, life happens and as I'm sure you know, things don't always work out the way we want it to. Instead of becoming a vet, I became a travel agent, but this did not diminish my passion for animals, and studying part-time, I obtained a diploma in game ranging.

It would be many years later that I decided to put my passion and love of animals to good use. I started to volunteer at a rescue shelter for abandoned and abused kittens and puppies. Needless to say, this is sometimes heartbreaking work, but the satisfaction that I get from this work far outweighs the sad moments.

The decision to start a site about different cat breeds was 50% love of cats and 50% due to my work at the shelter. People would come to the shelter wanting to adopt a cat or a kitten, but they would not have a clue as to what breed of cat they are adopting or what special care these creatures really need.

If I can make just one person understand that having a cat as part of your family is one of the best things in life, I will have obtained my goal. I hope that you will find Cat Breed Info informative - not only about the different cat breeds - but also about the care that cats need and deserve.

"Thousands of years ago, cats were worshipped as gods. Cats have never forgotten this." ~ Anonymous

In 2008, my fiance and I adopted a 5 month old kitten from our local SPCA. We quickly realized that this little black furball had his own ideas about training his slaves (humans) and he made his way deep into our hearts. Phoenix was a part of our lives until August 2009 when he disappeared without a trace.

In September 2009 we decided to adopt another kitten, again from the SPCA. This time we adopted a 4 month old little girl, called Amy. In the first 5 minutes of being in our home, she made her way into our hearts (and bed!) and rules the roost with a furry paw.
