Beegie May Be A Bombay

The truth is we fell in love with our two month old kitten the minute she got our attention at the Warren County Humane Shelter. I had adopted a younger black kitten, but when I took my husband to meet her he felt the kitten was mislabeled as a short hair. I had to have a short hair as I'm allergic to cats. He turned to see this little copper/golden eyed beauty trying to get our attention. Two dog lovers went into cat heaven!
Turns out our little Beegie (named after jazz pianist, Beegie Adair) is the sweetest little kitten. She continues to be more loving, attentive, and well mannered as she grows. We've had her for 3 1/2 months. She exhibits high intelligence. We have been able to train her with very little effort by simply using consistency and voice pitch changes. I bathe her every two weeks to keep her coat extra clean. She plays like a puppy. Beegie favorite games are bringing us toy mice to play fetch and catch, bplaying hide and seek, and playing with her dogs. She thinks she is one of the dogs. In fact, she nearly drives our dogs crazy with her endless energy. Adopting her was one of the best gifts we have given our empty nest!!
My husband and I think she may be a Bombay breed, as she meets every standard on the list except one. Her paw pads are not black. They are a dark color with a very soft pink cast.
My husband and I have never had a cat. However, your terrific site has helped us have a well informed, positive cat experience. Thank you.
